In the UK, composite windows and doors are becoming increasingly prevalent - and for good reason.

This innovative approach - merging the warmth of internal timber with the robust, low-maintenance external aluminium, ensures an unparalleled blend of thermal efficiency, strength, and durability, while maintaining a sleek design and minimal frame dimensions.

Innovative Frame Design

The distinct VELFAC design combines the charm of internal pine with the resilience and easy upkeep of external aluminium, all within a slender 54mm frame. This design choice not only augments the daylight entering through the windows and doors but also broadens the external view.

FSC Certified Timber Internal Frame

The internal frames, mullions, and transoms are crafted from high-grade VACUMAT or Flow-coat-treated pine, finished with water-based acrylic paint that includes anti-mould properties.

The final paint layer, ranging from 60-80μm in thickness, either preserves the natural pine appearance with a clear lacquer or can be tailored in a variety of RAL colours to suit interior design preferences.

Robust Aluminium Exterior Frame

The external window sashes are fashioned from aluminium extrusion alloys EN AW-6060 or EN AW-6063.

These are finished with a robust polyester powder coating, available in a spectrum of RAL colours, including metallic finishes in RAL 9006 & 9007, or anodised in silver or gold, ensuring a durable and attractive exterior.

High-Performance Insulating Glass

Glass forms a significant 62.2% of a VELFAC window.

Manufactured to include either double or triple glazing, the space between each pane is filled with a non-toxic, inert argon gas, naturally sourced from the atmosphere. This gas comprises 0.1% of a VELFAC 200 window yet is instrumental in significantly reducing heat loss through the glass, thanks to its superior insulating properties.
