Bars Glazing bars, also known as sash bars, are rigid structures that connect two separate glass panes.

Historically prevalent in sash windows, these bars were initially utilised to merge smaller, more affordable glass pieces into larger windows. Nowadays their use is predominantly aesthetic, adding a traditional touch and feel to glass window and door units.

VELFAC Glazing Bars - Sizes and Colours

VELFAC offers glazing bars in sizes of 36mm, 54mm, and 115mm, harmonising with transoms and mullions.

54mm glazing bars have the same dimensions as the sash profile, enhancing the uniform sightlines.
36mm glazing bars give a slightly lighter expression.
116mm glazing bars have the same expression as when two sashes are coupled.

The external colour of these bars is designed to complement the sash's other parts. Internally, the 36mm and 54mm profiles are available in shades of grey, white, and black, aligning with the glazing bead.

The 115mm variant corresponds with the selected colour of the timber frame. However, it's important to note that glazing bars are not an option for fire-rated windows and doors.
